- 4Check how much smaller it got, then download the new PDF.
Reduce PDF size for email, WhatsApp and online forms
Scanned documents and PDFs full of photos are often 10 MB or more, too big to email or upload to exam and job portals. This tool redraws each page at a sensible resolution and saves it with efficient JPEG compression, which typically cuts scanned PDFs by 60 to 90 percent.
Three levels to choose from
- Light: 150 DPI, sharp enough for printing.
- Recommended: 110 DPI, clear on screen and much smaller.
- Strong: 80 DPI, the smallest file for strict upload limits.
Private by design
Most PDF compressors upload your file. This one works entirely in your browser, so sensitive documents stay with you.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Every page is compressed inside your browser, so the file never leaves your device. That matters for bank statements, ID scans and contracts.
Which level should I choose?
Recommended suits most files, including scans for email and job portals. Use Light for documents you will print, and Strong when a form has a very small size limit.
Will I still be able to select the text?
No. To get large savings, each page is saved as a compressed image, so text can no longer be selected or searched. Keep the original if you need that.
Why didn’t my PDF get smaller?
PDFs that contain only typed text are already very small. If compression would make the file larger, the tool keeps your original instead.
How do I get a PDF under 1 MB or 500 KB?
Try Recommended first. If it is still too large, choose Strong and turn on black and white, which usually halves the size again.
